The Leo D. Mahoney Arena, an impressive 85,000-square-foot facility, accommodates 3,500 spectators and serves as a vibrant multi-use venue at the center of the Fairfield University campus. This modern arena is the proud home of Fairfield Basketball and Volleyball, and it also hosts a variety of University events and concerts. The $51 million construction project was entirely funded by generous donors and stands proudly on the site of the former Alumni Hall.
Equipped with cutting-edge technology, Mahoney Arena features a state-of-the-art broadcast and media center, comfortable seating, and inviting lounge areas, making it a highlight of Fairfield's contemporary campus. The main entrance welcomes fans into a spacious, open concourse, offering access to concessions and seating that encircles the court below, enhancing the overall spectator experience.
The arena's upper concourse includes The Diffley, an exclusive club area with 172 cushioned chair-back seats, a premium bar, and a comfortable lounge space. On the lower level, dedicated to supporting the Stags student-athletes, are well-appointed locker rooms, a film room, a team lounge, and a training room equipped for taping, icing, and first aid operations.
In collaboration with industry leader Daktronics, the University has designed and installed 15 advanced LED displays throughout Mahoney Arena.
