This building was constructed in 1968 and named after Roger B. Corbett, the President of NMSU from 1955-1970. The original plan for the building was much different from what you see today. The original location for the building was to be approximately where Educational Services building is today behind Garcia Hall. Also the original plan was only two
stories but featured a planetarium, bowling lanes, billiard and table tennis, a bookstore, administrative
offices, and room for games, hobbies, a dark room, etc.
Corbett Center, the university's student union, is a bustling center of activity on campus. It is home to the several dining establishments and many student organizations and programs. Corbett Center also offers attractive conference facilities.
