      1. Kent Hall

         The construction of Kent Hall was completed in 1930. It was designed as a men's dormitory to house up to 80 students, though, ironically, its first occupants were the women from McFie Hall during a summer of remodeling. By 1960, a few changes to the building made it possible to allow women to stay here at the same time as the men. In 1964, the building became the home of the new Speech Department. Sixteen years later, the building was remodeled from a dorm to an office building, and by 1981, the University Museum moved in. After a half million dollar renovation, the building reopened in 1986 as the new University Museum, which it remains to this day.
