      1. Zuhl Library

Zuhl Library was originally known as the "New Library". Construction was completed in 1992. The name was changed in 2000 to Zuhl Library after Herbert and Joan Zuhl. Both the Library and the Museum are dedicated to them, which hold geological artifacts from their personal collection, such as fossils, meteorites, and petrified wood. This collection is internationally recognized. Zuhl Library was the site of the first in-house copy room where students could photocopy pages from journals, books, and articles. It won awards for the best interior design, and it was one of the first (along with Branson Library) buildings to have an electronic classroom. These rooms were meant to be used to teach faculty how to use digital media like Microsoft PowerPoint or Adobe Illustrator. Zuhl Library is now a major academic research library that provides expanding resources and services to students, faculty, staff, the community and many other scholars. They support and enhance the teaching, learning, research, and outreach endeavors of NMSU. The library offers access to their massive collections of photos, documents, and other resources, as well as conference rooms which can be reserved for classes or study groups.
