      1. Skeen Hall

        Skeen Hall was originally known as the Center for the Sustainable Development of Arid Lands, or CSDAL. It was built in 2000 and now houses extraneous agricultural based departments. In 2001, it was recognized as one of the "Best Buildings" for exteriors. The architect of this building was Van H. Gilbert, P.C. Skeen Hall was named after two local New Mexicans, Joe and Mary Skeen. Mr. Skeen advocated for federal funding for agricultural research during his twenty years as a U.S. Congressman. Mrs. Skeen identified the needs of the Land-Grant program in the National Council on Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching.
