      1. William B. Conroy Honors Center

The Y.M.C.A. (Young Man's Christian Association) Building, which would later be called the William B. Conroy Honors Center, was built on university property in 1907. This makes it the oldest building at NMSU! It is a three-story California Mission Revival-style masonry and stucco building with a French tile hipped roof. It has an arched entryway. It was built with a brick exterior but that was later plastered over. While it was on university property, NMSU started off by renting the building out. Although it was one of the Trost & Trost original buildings, NMSU did not purchase the building until 1964. It was used by the Music Department from 1929 to 1965, and then the Air Force ROTC Program until 1982. After this it was vacant until 2002, by which time renovations had taken place and the Honors College had moved in. It is named after William B. Conroy, who was an NMSU president from 1997 to 2000.
