The Nason House, which was originally the President's House, was constructed in 1918. By 1935, Dr. H.L. Kent was president of New Mexico State University. He was asked by Dan W. Williams, President of the Board of Regents, to stop renting the house out to students and teachers. In 1956 the house received renovations and was used by presidents of the university until 1980. The house was dedicated to Willoughby Nason, a graduate student studying Mexican Revolutionary History, in 1987. Since then, the house has been used by the Center for Latin American Studies.
