The Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies is a state-of-the-art facility that opened Fall 2017. The building itself is beautiful and features plenty of windows, so every classroom is bright and is filled with natural light. Each classroom in the building is equipped with HDTVs and Apple TVs, where instructors can airplay powerpoints and videos to enhance learning. The building also has study rooms on every floor with huge whiteboards and Apple TVs, which make these rooms great for studying with friends. The building also has several labs, each filled with hospital beds and mannequins. This is where nursing students learn and practice fundamental skills, such as giving medications and taking vital signs. On the third floor, you’ll find our simulation suite. When you walk through the simulation suite, you’ll feel as though you’re walking the halls of the hospital. This suite is the perfect place for our nursing students to practice all of the skills they’ll be using in clinical. The mannequins on this floor have heart sounds, lung sounds, and will talk to you as you practice on them. We even have one mannequin, Lucy, who gives birth! The simulation suite is the perfect environment for students to learn, practice, and perfect all of their clinical skills. Overall, the Egan building is a great place to facilitate learning for our nursing and health studies students.
