      1. Race-Hooper Quadrangle

         This "Old Quad" holds much of the early history of our University. Originally University Hall, also known as "Old Main", is where Chattanooga University started in 1886. As newer buildings were built, Old Main deteriorated and was demolished in 1917. The outdoor space is now a quiet alternative to Chamberlain Field, and trees look breathtaking during the Fall season.
