        1. Highland Park

Highland Park is comprised of 4.09 acres of hilly, semi-shaded parkland that has been a long-time favorite location for viewing the downtown skyline. Highland Park has a rich history that dates back to Governor Noah Noble who was the fifth governor of Indiana. Mrs. George F. Miller was the last member of the Noble family to own the home that was on the land. She sold it to the City of Indianapolis with two agreements: One; that the Highland Home was to be torn down at once after her passing; and two; the location of the previous home and its grounds were to be made into a park. Mrs. George F. Miller was "green" way before it became a household word.
