A traditional Boston brownstone, the Lorin Deland House was built in 1900 and designed by the architectural firm of Andrews, Jaques & Rantoul, who designed numerous buildings now on the US National Register of Historic Places. Deland was a publisher, author, adman, and football coach best known for one of the game’s early innovations, the “flying wedge” formation.
