Drama
Oxford students have an exciting opportunity to learn about theater. Students can have leading roles in plays, write and direct productions and help with costuming and set building. Oxford College has two major theater groups: Drama Guild and the Oxford Ensemble of Shakespearean Artists (OESA). Each of these groups does several productions each year, including a fall production from each organization, a spring production (usually by Drama Guild) and a One-Act Play Festival which typically includes student written and directed pieces.
Vocal Performance
Oxford College has a professionally directed group called the Oxford Chorale. Individual practice rooms are on the top floor of Few Hall for students use. This group performs at various functions throughout the school year.
Instrumental Performance
Although Oxford does not have a full symphony, students interested in playing instruments will certainly have that opportunity. Small ensembles are formed each year depending on the interest of the current student body. .
Studio Art
Classes in Drawing and Painting are offered in the basement of Tarbutton. Students from various levels of experience participate in these classes. They are certainly popular on campus!
