    1. Stone Row: McVikar and Potter

McVickar and Potter are part of one of the oldest buildings on campus: Stone Row. Opened in 1891, Stone Row was built to serve as student residences of the original St. Stephen's College campus, which would later become Bard College. Potter and McVickar are named after Bishop Potter and Dr. McVickar, who were instrumental in founding Bard. Stone Row also includes the adjacent North Hoffman and South Hoffman residence halls. McVickar and Potter house mostly Upper College students and consist of single- and double-occupancy rooms. Stone Row also houses the Learning Commons, Bard Barbers, and the Root Cellar.
