    1. South Hall

South Hall has a mixture of single- and double-occupancy rooms, housing Upper College students. Opened in 1936, South Hall significantly expanded the number of students living on campus through a loan from Columbia University. This was the only building erected during Columbia's years in close relation with Bard College. Now considered a smaller residence, this hall features a large kitchen/lounge with a checkered floor from the early 20th century.
