      Named for James Maxwell Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey established and taught the first school in Oxford on MU grounds (1811-1818), supervised construction of Miami’s first building, Franklin Hall (which was later called Old Main then renamed Harrison Hall) and several subsequent structures (1816-1824), and served as Miami's first Treasurer (1824-1827).
