Named after William Dennison, class of 1835 and a well known politician during the second half of the 1800's. His positions included Ohio State Senator, Presidential Elector, Governor of Ohio (1860-1864), and Postmaster General under Abraham Lincoln. Mr. Dennison was also a bank president, president of a railroad, and owner of several successful businesses in Columbus.
