Named after Leila S. McKee who was the first President of Western College for Women (when it changed from Western Female Seminary) from 1888 to 1904. She also served as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1909-1938. As the building was built during her administration, it was named in honor of Mrs. McKee in 1917. This building was acquired as part of Miami University's purchase of Western College in 1973.
