This pilot program is intended to evaluate campus bike paths as a way to meet our University’s sustainability goals. Student and employee vehicle traffic accounts for our largest greenhouse gas emissions, and a campus bike path should make it easier and more appealing to use alternate modes of transportation to reach and navigate campus.
The following rules apply:
- All path users must yield to pedestrian traffic.
- Use extreme caution near all footbridges and pathway intersections on campus.
- Traffic must not exceed 5 mph.
- Users must dismount and walk their wheels between Butte and Plumas Halls near the crossing with Meriam Library Bridge, and dismount to cross Warner Street.
- Electric bicycles, electric scooters, and other motorized devices are not allowed.
These rules apply to the designated bike path only. Biking, skateboarding, and other similar activities are still prohibited across the rest of campus. Additional details can be found on the
Pedal Powered Chico State webpage.
