Named for alumni of Miami whose gifts were matched by the Carnegie Foundation to make construction of the initial (center) section of the building possible. It originally opened as the Alumni Library in 1909. The east wing was added in 1924 and the west wing was added in 1955. Its name was changed to Alumni Hall when main library facilities were moved into King Library in 1966.
