The Manse
Deerfield Academy purchased the Manse in 1928, and in 1950 it was restored again by Henry and Helen Flynt for use as an Academy guesthouse. Frank and Helen Boyden moved into the house on their retirement in 1968, and since 1980 the Manse has served as the official residence of the Academy’s heads of school, including Robert Kaufmann, Eric Widmer, Margarita O’Byrne Curtis and John P.N. Austin.
