Old Burying Ground
One of Deerfield’s less conspicuous historical sites is its Old Burying Ground. Established in the village’s first years, it lies at the far western end of Albany Road on the edge of the plateau overlooking the Lower Level. The majority of the stones date from the eighteenth century, as a new cemetery (now known as the Laurel Hill Cemetery) was opened in 1803 on the hillside east of town.
