    1. Main School Building

Erected on the site of the former Dickinson High School and Deerfield Academy Building of 1878, the Main School Building was completed in 1931. It was designed by prominent architect and landscape designer, Charles A. Platt, as part of the first major building campaign that began in 1929, and served as the classroom building for the entire school. Today, the MSB houses history classrooms as well as many of Deerfield’s administrative offices, including: Head of School, Admission, Dean of Faculty, Student Life Office, Student Activities, Inclusion & Community Life, Community Service, Human Resources and Finance. The Caswell Library, located on the first floor, serves as the Admission waiting area. Mr. Boyden’s maxim, “Look to the hills,” is inscribed above the fireplace.
