Named for Llewellyn and Frances McFarland Bonham, from whom Miami purchased the building in 1946. Originally built by Miami's President Robert Livingston Stanton and known as "Stanton's Mansion", the building was bought at sheriff's sale by Robert White McFarland in 1873. McFarland's daughter and her husband Llewellyn Bonham occupied the house until fire damaged it in 1942. Miami purchased the house from the Bonhams in 1946.
