Named for three-sport standout Catherine “Floy” Lewis Bakes ‘49, this venue opened in 2001 in a setting that has long served as the athletic heart of campus, from our popular intramural program to our distinguished Division III athletics. Built on ground that hosted the epic 1997 wrestling meet between USA and Russia, the FLB was home for many years to the USA Field Hockey Hall of Fame. Our famed bear takes center stage, having been carved from the long-standing, lone sycamore tree that stood tall in the Patterson Field end zone. Ursinus has won national championships in both women’s lacrosse and women’s field hockey, and on nearby Snell Field, Ursinus played host to two consecutive NCAA Division III national field hockey championship tournaments in 2007 and 2008.
