         1. SUNDIAL 1921

            With the outbreak of world war one in 1917 the entire student body of the Florida State College for Women gathered around the flagpole on the front lawn of Bryan Hall. Here they sang the national anthem as they reverently lowered the flag and the graduating class of 1921 presented the Sundial to Bryan Hall.
