Memorial '70, located near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Perimeter Road, is a permanent memorial to those who died in the WSU football plane crash of October 2, 1970. The memorial was designed by Wichita architecture firm Schaefer, Schirmer and Associates, and comprises two concrete forms, one of which lists the names of the 31 victims. The memorial was dedicated on November 28, 1971, and annually is the site of memorial services on the date of the crash.

Additions to the memorial since its dedication include:

        • The Randy Jackson Survivor Tree (2010), a seedling of the 100-year old American elm that survived the bomb blast at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
        • The Survivors Monument (2020), which lists the names of the the eight players who survived the crash of the Gold Plane on Mount Trelease on October 2, 1970, and also lists the 35 players, coaches and supporters who were on a Black plane that landed safety. It is positioned between the two original Memorial 70 structures
