The UT Martin Agricultural and Natural Resources Teaching Complex serves as the lab farm in the department’s teaching programs. The various units comprise 680 acres and include livestock herds, as well as greenhouses and landscape, wildlife, field and forage crop demonstration areas. The 240-acre field laboratory gives students direct hands-on experience in a variety of subject areas. Current facilities include the Henderson Headquarters Building, Ray and Wilma Smith Livestock Merchandising Center, West Tennessee Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Graves Stables, Plant Science Complex (laboratory and greenhouse) and Weldon Beef Cattle Management Center. Other facilities used by faculty and students to conduct research to complement the teaching program include a sheep and goat center, aquaculture facility and agroforestry research area.
