App State’s pedestrian Rivers Street Tunnels offers campus community members and visitors a convenient way to cross Rivers Street, which serves as the Boone campus’s main thoroughfare. The tunnels were renovated in 2024, with upgrades that included sandblasting to remove old layers of paint from the tunnel walls and floors; replacing dim lighting with new, bright LED lighting; and installing 24/7 closed-circuit cameras to enhance security.
