Durham Park, located near App State’s main entrance off Hardin Street, is named in honor of Dr. Harvey R. Durham, who served as acting chancellor of the university during the 2003–04 school year. It features paved walkways, a gazebo and trees for hanging hammocks. Boone Creek also flows through this area, and students often lounge on its banks for a study break. The creek is also used as a research tool by App State faculty and students.
