    1. Arms Building

The Arms Building was the second building designed for the school by Charles A. Platt. It was completed in 1933. Initially “dedicated to science and industrial training,” it was funded by a gift from Jennie Maria Arms Sheldon, an MIT-educated scientist, Academy trustee, and longtime friend of Headmaster Frank Boyden. Today, the Arms Building’s nine classrooms serve the English and Philosophy and Religion departments.
