Haft Hall (WAER)
Halt Hall is a three-level former residence hall that is now home to WAER (88.3) the radio station for Syracuse University. Located at 795 Ostrom Avenue, this former dormitory and sorority house was constructed in 1955. The building was renovated around 2003 to accommodate the radio station. The second floor is now office space and the first floor contains additional offices and radio studios and the news room. The basement has been converted to a staff/volunteer lounge area and storage space for the radio station. The exterior facades are brick veneer with a flat, built-up roof and lower awnings over the terrace and side entry. The main west entry door and secondary exterior doors are hollow metal. Exterior glazing is mostly older metal-framed, thermal-pane window units. Haft Hall totals approximately 10,242 gross square feet.
