I.G. Greer is home to the College of Arts and Sciences’ (CAS) Office of the Dean. CAS enrolls approximately 6,100 students and comprises 17 academic departments, two centers and one residential college — units that span the humanities and the social, mathematical and natural sciences. As the college is also largely responsible for implementing App State's general education curriculum, it is heavily involved in the education of all university students, including those pursuing majors in other colleges.
The college’s Department of Philosophy and Religion, as well as the Office of Student Success, Office of Access and Equity: Equal Opportunity and University Ombuds Office are also located in I.G. Greer.
Did you know? The I.G. Greer Studio Theatre is an 80-seat black box theater space used for academic instruction and cocurricular events sponsored by App State’s Department of Theatre and Dance, as well as external organizations and programs.
The facility also contains the I.G. Greer Auditorium, which can seat 452 people and is managed by the College of Arts and Sciences. It is used for guest lectures, film screenings, large academic courses and meetings, and some Department of Theatre and Dance productions.
