The Allingtown Library is a three story, brick and masonry building owned by the City of West Haven. The University of New Haven has leased the third floor of this facility which contains several classrooms. The building is located in Allingtown near the green and immediately north of the Park View residential hall.

The third floor classrooms have all been renovated for higher education teaching and contain complete University standard classroom furnishings and technology, including WiFi. The building is supported by University security and safety systems and is also ADA compliant, including elevator access to all floors.

The building was originally constructed in 1932 by the City of West Haven and used as a public classroom building for grammar school level students. Later it was converted to a neighborhood community center which included a senior center, other civic organizations, and a community library. From this use, is where the building received its current name. Recently, the City has offered the building for sale to the public. The University anticipates remaining in this building after it potentially transfers to a future owner.
