Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation
Campus Building #9A
Built in: 2019
Sq. Footage: 40,000
The 40,000-square-foot facility, which opened in the fall of 2020, is the centerpiece of the University’s Charger Challenge: The Campaign for The University of New Haven, that endeavors to raise $100 million by 2020 to invest in student scholarships and the University’s culture of innovation.
The building is emblematic of something that’s been built into the University’s DNA from the very start – a desire to innovate, explore, and create. Connected to Buckman Hall, home to the Tagliatela College of Engineering, the Bergami Center for Science, Technology, and Innovation’s design centers on creating common spaces where students can develop and test ideas across disciplines alongside their peers, with mentorship from faculty, alumni, and corporate partners.
The state-of-the-art facility features a makerspace, science classrooms, communications studios, advanced “smart” classrooms, and an atrium/café.
