        Ellis C. Maxcy Hall

        Campus Building #1
        Built in:
        1910

        Sq. Footage: 98,000

Named for the University’s first president, Maxcy Hall is the centerpiece of campus. A place that carries us back to our roots and continues to move us forward, it is an iconic backdrop for Commencement photos and Instagram selfies. Elegantly historic on the outside, inside it’s about immersive, collaborative, and hands-on learning spaces: the Samuel S. Bergami Jr. Cybersecurity Center, the home of the only NSA-designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations, the Vlock Center for Convergent Media, and the Health Sciences Lab.

Maxcy Hall is also home to the Office of the President and many senior administrative offices, as well as the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Center for Student Success.

Rumor has it that the building, which once served as an orphanage, is haunted. Visitors can be assured, though, that the Paranormal Investigation and Research Organization, one of the largest student groups on campus, is on the case.
