Mellowes Hall (MH) is comprised of four floors of suite-style housing. Each suite has single and/or double rooms, bathroom and common area. Two floors are reserved for female students and two floors are dedicated to a gender-inclusive living community. Mellowes connects to Viets Tower. It was built in 1990 as an addition to what was then Roy W. Johnson Hall (today known as Viets Tower). MSOE’s Public Safety Department is located on the ground floor. Thanks to a gift from MSOE Regent Dr. John A. Mellowes and his wife Linda Mellowes, upgrades have been made to the residence hall including air conditioning, lobby and new furniture. The residence was officially renamed to Mellowes Hall in their honor in fall 2024.
