         Building 8
         Nickname: Dow

         This green facility is home to several departments, all focused on studying and researching the Earth and all who inhabit it. Built into the hillside overlooking the Keweenaw Waterway, you can enter on the sixth floor from campus and exit several stories below near the waterfront.

         Inside you'll find:

         • Biological Sciences
         • Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering
         • Department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences 

         Visiting Campus?

         • Lobby: Look up! You’ll see concrete canoes designed, built, and raced by Tech’s team at regional and national competitions.

         Accessibility Information

         • Doors: 
           • Automatic door—main door facing Rekhi Hall/Library, back door campus side east, main door along lakeshore.
           • No stairs, but no automatic opener—door to the water side of the building on Cliff Drive.
         • Elevators: 
           • Campus side, middle of the building—enter through the automatic door facing campus mall. Elevator is just ahead to the left.
           • Water side, northeast side of the building—enter through main door along lakeshore. Elevator is just ahead to the left.
         • Restrooms (First Floor):
           • Campus side east—1 women's accessible restroom.
           • Campus side west—1 men's accessible restroom.
           • Water side north—1 men's and 1 women's accessible restrooms.
         • Parking: EERC, Dillman Hall, Dow Water Side, GLRC
         • Other: The Dow is directly connected to the EERC on the west and Dillman Hall on the east.
