      1. Husky Statue Plaza

        One of Michigan Tech's most recognizable landmarks, the Husky Statue, is a favorite meeting place and photo spot for students, alumni, and visitors. Dedicated in 2014 as the gateway to Alumni Way, the statue celebrates Husky pride year-round—including during National Engineers Week, when it trades its bronze coat for a white one.

        Fun Facts:

        • 9 feet tall
        • 1,600 pounds of hollow, cast bronze
        • Stands atop a 25-ton, 1.8-billion-year-old boulder harvested from nearby Baraga County
        • Donated by civil engineering alumnus Roland Huhtala '74
        • Surrounded by 4,500 pavers—including over 1,000 personalized and engraved pavers honoring the Husky community
