Dedicated during Commencement weekend on April 26, 2024, the Alumni Gateway Arch welcomes students, alumni, and visitors to Michigan Tech's west campus entrance. Made possible through alumni generosity—including a lead gift from Mike Trewhella '78—the arch marks the beginning of Alumni Way, a pedestrian pathway that connects generations of Huskies while celebrating Michigan Tech's history and traditions.
Fun Facts:
- University name displayed in copper lettering on a steel arch
- Column bases built with locally sourced Copper Harbor conglomerate stone
- Main column walls constructed from Jacobsville sandstone salvaged from MTU’s original Central Heating Plant, which served campus for more than 100 years before its demolition in 2018
