The Sustainability Institute’s Sustainability Experience Center serves as a 9.4 acre site to promote sustainable living located on the edge of campus. It is home to several projects such as the Eco Machine™, MorningStar Solar Home, and the Community Garden, and it is also several other ongoing research projects and is commonly used for classes and other events. Students played a huge role in building and maintaining the SEC. For instance, the community garden is run by students and the MorningStar Solar Home was both designed and built by students. They will proceed to play a large role in the site’s future, which will continue to be re-envisioned to make it a place which engages both locals and those residing on campus.
