      1. Newhouse 2

Newhouse 2 is the second of three buildings in the Newhouse complex on the campus of Syracuse University. This four-story building is located at 215 University Place and was constructed in 1972 when the School of Journalism merged with the Television and Radio Departments. It provides TV studios, scene shops, a small theater, and broadcast labs. Newhouse 2 was later partially renovated during the construction of Newhouse 3 in 2007 and again in 2014 with the renovation and expansion of the Newhouse Studio and Innovation Center. This new construction includes a new glass entry lobby, the Dick Clark Studios, and the Alan Gerry Center for Media Innovations. The exterior facades are precast concrete panels with individual thermal-pane windows. The main entry airlock has glass doors and secondary exterior doors are hollow metal. The older main membrane roof was scheduled for replacement at the time of inspection. Newhouse 2 totals approximately 78,397 gross square feet.
