        The Center of Excellence at Syracuse University is located on an EPA-designated brownfields site in downtown Syracuse, New York. Known as SyracuseCoE, this iconic $41 million facility was designed by the local architectural firm of Ashley McGraw and dedicated on March 5, 2010. It contains world-class Research and Development facilities for research and business collaborations, including the Willis H. Carrier Total Indoor Environmental Quality Laboratory, and the Urban Ecosystem Observatory. Other innovative features of this Platinum LEED certified building include a green roof, a stormwater retention system, highly insulated glazing, radiant ceilings, and demand-controlled ventilation based on occupancy.   SyracuseCoE provides staff offices, classroom, public areas, and research space for academic and industry research partnerships in indoor environmental quality, clean energy, and energy efficiency. It is reported to comprise 55,784 gross square feet.
