      1. Sims Hall

Sims Hall is located on the north side of Sims Drive, west of College Place, on the main campus of Syracuse University. The building was originally constructed in 1906 as a dormitory with a dining hall on the ground floor. From 1946 through 1951, the ground floor dining hall was expanded. In the early 1960s, the building was converted to offices and classrooms for the Department of Psychology. The entire building was renovated in 1994-1995, and the main entrance was enclosed. In 2011, a former courtyard was filled in to create a communications center for the Department of Public Safety. In its current configuration, the five-story (including basement) concrete and masonry building contains about 67,750 square feet of space. At the time of our assessment, an interior renovation of the third and fourth floors was being completed. Most of the third floor spaces were occupied, but only a few fourth floor spaces were occupied.
