The Chrystal Center’s largest occupant, the
Center for Careers, Life, and Service (CLS) empowers students and alumni to live, learn, and work with meaning and purpose. The CLS hands-on staff can help students identify service opportunities, find internships and externships (often with Grinnell alumni), and apply for graduate school, as well as perfect resumes, applications, and cover letters. The center also offers
funding for summer internships for current students who apply. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping students.
The building also houses the registrar's office and analytics and institutional research.
The John Chrystal Center is named for former trustee John Chrystal and built largely with materials from Iowa, including cedar and glass, and with limestone quarried near Anamosa.
