Built in 1885,
Goodnow Hall is the oldest standing building on campus and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally the campus library and an astronomical observatory. The distinct pink sandstone was quarried in South Dakota; the trim in a white stone is from Missouri.
It houses faculty in senior faculty status as well as Grinnell College Museum of Art staff.
