    1. Calorimeter Building

      The Calorimeter Building was completed in 1902 to house the Armsby Calorimeter. The Calorimeter was used to perform experiments on the energy metabolism of cattle to calculate the nutritive values of a particular feed. The Calorimeter was also used in the 1950s to study nutrients and energy metabolism in humans. In 1969 the Calorimeter Building was converted to a museum and in 1979 was named to the National Register of Historic Places.
