Kopchick Hall is a state-of-the-art math and science building which opened in spring 2024. Named after alumni benefactors John J. and Char Kopchick, the 142,000-square-foot building is home to the Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, which includes the departments of Anthropology, Geospatial and Earth SciencesBiology; Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics; Preprofessional Programs; and Safety Sciences and Environmental Engineering.

In addition to its laboratory spaces, which include 43 research lab modules, Kopchick Hall has almost 10,000 square feet of collaboration space and 8,000 feet of formal teaching space, including three flexible classrooms. Some of the facility’s special features include the Cejka Planetarium, imaging lab, laser lab, anatomy lab, and roof terrace and partial green roof for research.

View a gallery of photos and video about Kopchick Hall's opening days. There are a number of common spaces in the building—not just for science majors, but for all students—to showcase science and math to the community.

Construction for the new $90-million building started in 2020.
