In 2003, UA Libraries built an off-site storage facility called the Annex to help with the management and development of the library's collection. The Annex currently houses an estimated 680,000 volumes, 135 microfilm cabinets and a collection of 19th century newspapers. Since the Annex is the off-site storage facility for the Libraries and arranged by size, it is not browsable by patrons. All items, however, can be retrieved through the
