Adams Hall was built in 1914 as the west annex to the original Julia Tutwiler Hall, which was the first dorm built exclusively for women on the University campus.

In 1968 the building was demolished to make way for Rose Administration, but the west and east annexes were left standing. In 1980, the west annex was dedicated Adams Hall.

Adams houses the Department of Consumer Sciences and includes classrooms, faculty offices, and a HES computer lab.
