Coleman Coliseum, completed in 1968, serves as the home of the Crimson Tide gymnastics, and basketball teams. The arena has a seating capacity of 15,316 and is also used for graduations and large galas. Originally named Memorial Coliseum, the facility was re-named in 1988 to honor Jeff Coleman who was the University's longtime director of alumni relations. The building, equivalent to a seven-story structure at its apex, got a bit of a facelift in 2005 when new offices for coaches and administrators as well as a new ticket office and Tide Pride office were added. The large mid-court scoreboard was also taken down and replaced by a pair of endline scoreboards equipped with video replay screens. In addition, Alabama's parquet floor was repainted with the Tide's new elephant logo at center court. Since its construction, the coliseum has hosted a diversity of events including commencement exercises, a visit by President Ronald Reagan, alumni gatherings, student convocations, concerts, operas, ballets and appearances by political figures. Travis Tritt filmed his "Bible Belt" country music video there. Stars who have performed on its stages include Elvis Presley, Tom Petty, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Reba McIntyre, Jay Leno and Hank Williams, Jr.
